How It Works
Semaglutide is a long-acting GLP-1 receptor agonist that mimics the activity of the naturally occurring GLP-1 hormone. Wegovy works mainly by acting on areas of the brain involved in appetite regulation, helping increase feelings of fullness and reduce hunger.
The 1 mg strength is part of the dose-escalation schedule used before reaching the recommended maintenance dose. Wegovy should be used according to an individualized treatment plan and under appropriate medical supervision

Dosage & How to Use
- ✦ Wegovy 1 mg is administered as a subcutaneous injection once weekly.
- ✦ Inject into the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm as directed.
- ✦ Use it on the same day each week whenever possible.
- ✦ It may be administered with or without meals.
- ✦ The dose is increased gradually according to your doctor's plan.
- ✦ Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice.
Side Effects
- ✦ Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea may occur during treatment.
- ✦ Constipation or abdominal discomfort can sometimes develop.
- ✦ Decreased appetite is a common effect of Semaglutide.
- ✦ Headache or fatigue may occur in some patients.
- ✦ Gallbladder problems may occur during treatment.
- ✦ Severe or persistent abdominal pain requires prompt medical attention.
Storage
- ✦ Store Wegovy according to the manufacturer's recommended conditions.
- ✦ Keep unopened pens refrigerated between 2°C and 8°C.
- ✦ Do not freeze or use the medicine if it has frozen.
- ✦ Protect the pen from excessive heat and direct sunlight.
