Lantus® 100 IU/mL Cartridge contains Insulin Glargine, a long-acting insulin analogue used to improve blood glucose control in adults and appropriate pediatric patients with diabetes mellitus. How It Works

Insulin Glargine is a long-acting form of insulin designed to provide sustained blood glucose-lowering activity. It replaces or supplements the insulin normally produced by the body and helps maintain glucose levels between meals and overnight.
Lantus is used in the management of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes as part of an individualized diabetes treatment plan. The dose is determined according to blood glucose levels, type of diabetes, previous insulin treatment, and individual metabolic requirements.

Dosage & How to Use

  • ✦ Use Lantus exactly according to your prescribed insulin treatment plan.
  • ✦ It is administered subcutaneously once daily at a consistent time.
  • ✦ The injection may be given in the abdomen, thigh, or deltoid.
  • ✦ Rotate injection sites regularly to reduce local skin changes.
  • ✦ Do not dilute or mix Lantus with other insulin solutions.

Side Effects

  • ✦ Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) is the most important potential side effect.
  • ✦ Injectionsite reactions such as redness or irritation may occur.
