How It Works
Paracetamol serves as the sole active ingredient in this ready-to-use solution, bypassing your digestive system entirely. Trained hospital staff manage the 15-minute intravenous (IV) infusion in a hospital environment. Medical teams depend on this formulation for prompt post-operative recovery, though liver safety strictly limits overall intake.
Dosage & How to Use
- ✦ Trained staff set it up. One 100 ml bottle gives the full 1000 mg dose for adults over 50 kg.
- ✦ Four grams in twentyfour hours is the ceiling, and that has to include any paracetamol given as a tablet or a syrup.
- ✦ Infused over roughly fifteen minutes, with at least four hours before the next dose.
- ✦ For anyone weighing 33 kg to 50 kg, the dose is 15 mg per kg, and the daily total stays under 3 g.
Side Effects
- ✦ Nausea and vomiting are the ones seen most often, sometimes alongside a general feeling of malaise.
- ✦ At the cannula site, pain or redness may show up, with swelling in some cases.
- ✦ A dip in blood pressure shows up in a small number of people during the infusion, and the rate is slowed if it occurs.
- ✦ Report any yellowing of eyes, severe stomach pain or skin reactions to hospital staff.
Storage
- ✦ Store solution containers below 30 degrees Celsius in the carton.
- ✦ Never freeze or refrigerate this infusion product at any time.
- ✦ Before preparing IV, the solution is checked for clarity, and anything cloudy or containing particles is discarded.
- ✦ Intact packaging safeguards product quality until stated expiry.
- ✦ Never save the postinfusion remains for later. Discard them immediately.
